Abstract: The 2026-2028 IFRC network country plan outlines the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies' strategic framework for supporting the Kenya Red Cross Society in addressing humanitarian crises and longer-term development needs. The plan prioritizes emergency response to disease outbreaks, complex emergencies, and climate-related disasters including drought and floods that threaten food security. Key focus areas include disaster risk reduction, climate change adaptation, community health, water sanitation and hygiene, and capacity development at branch and youth levels. The Kenya Red Cross Society, with 47 county branches and 280,263 volunteers, aims to reach 300,000 people in 2026 across emergency operations, climate and environment programs, health and wellbeing initiatives, and migration and displacement support. The plan emphasizes building resilience in arid and semi-arid lands and vulnerable communities while strengthening the National Society's organizational capacity to deliver humanitarian and development objectives.
