Abstract: This compilation of presentations from the November 2024 East Africa Climate Workshop summarizes collaborative work by UNHCR, CGIAR, ICPAC, and UNEP on climate-induced displacement, risk modelling, and early warning systems across East Africa, including Kenya. Key content includes spatial and econometric analyses from the Climate Security Observatory (CSO), climate-conflict-displacement linkages, vulnerability mapping, and predictive models (e.g., CLIFDEW-GRID and agent-based simulations). Case studies from Kenya, particularly in Samburu and northern ASAL counties, demonstrate how climate hazards such as extreme rainfall, drought, and heat stress interact with conflict and mobility patterns. Tools like the Climate Security Pathways and displacement hotspots mapping are introduced alongside modeling approaches using CHIRPS, CHIRTS, SPEI, FEWS Net, and ACLED datasets. The brief outlines results showing increased compound hazards in Kenya and recommends policy integration of climate-peace-security frameworks and displacement-ready adaptation.
