Download

Abstract: This study compares energy consumption, cooking time, and costs across 10 appliances using 7 Kenyan recipes. Electric pressure cookers and induction cookers outperform LPG and charcoal stoves in efficiency and affordability. The report advocates for fuel stacking and clean cooking transitions due to health and environmental risks from kerosene and biomass. It informs Kenya?s National eCooking Strategy and supports universal clean cooking access by 2028. Methodology includes Controlled Cooking Tests (CCTs) and detailed performance metrics.
