Abstract: This policy brief advocates for treating climate-linked mobility as a core development strategy across Africa. It argues that migration and planned relocation can strengthen resilience, reduce exposure, and foster regional economic integration if done voluntarily, safely, and strategically. Drawing on experiences from Kenya, Ethiopia, Ghana, and Uganda, the brief highlights successful interventions like community-driven relocations, climate-smart water infrastructure, and microinsurance schemes for pastoralists.
