Abstract: This study investigates the dual impacts of climate events and development interventions on displacement across three counties. It draws from interviews with 269 internally displaced persons, showing that droughts, floods, and infrastructure projects like dams and road networks have uprooted communities. The report critiques Kenya?s IDP Act (2012), noting implementation gaps in registration, resettlement support, and institutional coordination. Legal frameworks are assessed for their responsiveness to environmental displacement, and findings indicate poor integration between climate policy and migration governance. Analysis includes gendered impacts, social fragmentation, and challenges of reintegration. Recommendations target data systems, participatory planning, and community-led resettlement pathways.
