Abstract: This global guidance document provides a comprehensive roadmap for integrating agroecology into the development and revision of National Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plans (NBSAPs) aligned with the Kunming?Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF). Co-developed by leading food system and biodiversity institutions, the guidance illustrates how agroecology can contribute to halting biodiversity loss, restoring degraded ecosystems, and addressing structural drivers of ecosystem degradation?particularly those rooted in industrial agriculture. It defines agroecology as a science, a set of practices, and a social movement grounded in 13 principles and 10 elements recognized by FAO and HLPE.
