Abstract: This factsheet summarizes the Accelerated Clean Cooking Action (ACCA) project, spearheaded by UNDP in partnership with Kenya?s Ministry of Energy and Petroleum, and county governments in Nairobi, Tana River, Laikipia, Kajiado, and Machakos. The project aims to accelerate Kenya?s journey toward universal access to clean cooking by 2028. Key components include distribution of 10,000 clean cookstoves to vulnerable households, transitioning five public institutions to LPG, and developing county energy plans in three counties. The initiative further strengthens the clean cooking value chain through targeted capacity building for 556 women and youth entrepreneurs, and hosts public engagement through roadshows, workshops, and a national Clean Cooking Week conference. With a projected annual emission reduction of 25,000 tons of CO? and improved indoor air quality for thousands, the project integrates policy, technology, gender equity, and institutional transformation into Kenya?s clean energy transition.
