Abstract: This peer-reviewed study analyzes the feasibility and implications of deploying regional integrated energy systems (RIES) across Sub-Saharan Africa. Using power pool case studies and benchmark comparisons with the UK and China, it identifies regulatory bottlenecks and infrastructure gaps, while outlining investment frameworks and technical coordination strategies. Kenya is featured for its geothermal and microgrid potential, alongside cross-border energy trade integration. The research supports scalable models to diversify energy supply and improve resilience.
