Abstract: This white paper presents urban sustainability strategies through a ?Just City? lens, advocating equity, inclusion, youth participation, and democratic planning. It covers resilience in post-COVID recovery, AI for waste and traffic optimization, urban governance reforms, and digital justice. Nairobi and other African cities are profiled. Data privacy lapses and land grabbing (e.g. Huduma Namba critique) are analyzed. It proposes youth-led design, community policing, and green infrastructure interventions. AU frameworks and smart policy integration are discussed. The paper is designed to support local governments, civil society, and development actors in co-creating resilient, inclusive urban environments across African cities.
