Abstract: This strategic roadmap outlines four targets for Kenya?s plastic packaging industry: elimination of problematic single-use items; 100% reusable or recyclable packaging; 40% effective recycling rate; and 15% recycled content across all packaging by 2030. It details barriers in infrastructure, informal sector inclusion, consumer awareness, and regulatory enforcement. Strategies include action groups focused on circular design, waste collection, reuse models, policy reform, and EPR frameworks. It emphasizes data tracking, stakeholder collaboration, and the integration of global network resources through alignment with the Ellen MacArthur Foundation. The roadmap fosters public-private engagement and envisions Kenya as a regional hub for circular plastics innovation.
