Abstract: This peer-reviewed article presents methodological guidance for carbon stock quantification in agroforestry systems. It addresses weaknesses in measurement consistency and transparency. Variables like sampling depth, bulk density, equivalent soil mass, allometric equations, GPS reporting, and carbon inputs are standardized. The paper supports MRV protocol design, links to IPCC refinements and carbon credit eligibility, and critiques study site documentation practices. Recommendations aim to increase comparability across research and carbon projects. The guidelines anchor agroforestry within climate mitigation and nature-based solution frameworks and offer a checklist for carbon-ready field assessments.
