Abstract: This Nile Basin Initiative (NBI) briefing introduces NB-FFEWS: a flash flood early warning system developed using FFPI and other hydrological modeling tools. It targets disaster-prone regions in Kenya, Rwanda, Ethiopia, and others. Consultative workshops led to hotspot mapping and structural/non-structural investment planning. The report describes basin-wide transboundary coordination, regional infrastructure resilience goals, and operational deployment timelines.
