Abstract: This paper explores sustainable finance evolution and challenges in Africa, particularly ESG integration, climate finance, and SDG-aligned investment. It discusses instruments such as green bonds and socially responsible loans, with examples from Kenya, Nigeria, and South Africa. Africa needs $250 billion annually for climate goals but receives less than $30 billion. The paper emphasizes institutional reform, regulatory support, and private sector inclusion. Central banks, disclosure mandates, and climate-resilient financial products are key strategies to close funding gaps and achieve development-finance alignment.
