Abstract: This study evaluates employment outcomes resulting from the GMG Facility in rural Kenya, especially among SMEs that utilize productive energy. Surveying 94 SMEs across Busia, Kisii, and Siaya counties, the report documents 118 full-time equivalent jobs created?48% occupied by youth and 48% by women. Positive impacts include higher incomes, improved productivity, and livelihood diversification. Nonetheless, barriers like high energy costs, credit access, and informality persist. Recommendations include appliance finance, impact investor partnerships, and subsidies to expand inclusive economic growth via reliable energy access.
