Abstract: This study examines how rising temperatures contribute to intimate partner violence (IPV) across sub-Saharan Africa. Using DHS and SSP data, it shows that a 1 SD temperature anomaly raises IPV risk by 3%. Younger, less-educated women are most vulnerable. Southern and Central Africa are especially affected. Under high warming scenarios, IPV cases may triple by 2060. However, educational improvements and development can reduce these effects significantly. The findings stress the need for gender components in NDCs and National Adaptation Plans.
