Abstract: This impact report documents the results of Canon Medical Systems Ltd?s carbon offset programme for the year 2023, implemented in partnership with CO2balance UK Ltd. The programme offsets emissions from medical systems sold in the UK and the company?s corporate footprint through three Gold Standard-certified projects: the Kenya Energy Efficient Stove Project, the Uganda Borehole Rehabilitation Project, and a Wind Power Project in India. In 2023, the programme offset 8,125.71 tonnes of CO?e, with 2,844 tonnes each attributed to the stove and borehole projects. The Kenyan stove initiative distributed 878 stoves, saving 2,291 tonnes of wood and reducing indoor smoke-related illnesses such as respiratory infections and asthma.
