Abstract: This policy brief presents a strategic analysis of green industrialization opportunities across Africa and Europe. Drawing on case studies from Kenya, Nigeria, and Namibia, the document explores how sectors such as solar PV, electric cooking, and green hydrogen can serve as catalysts for industrial transformation. It emphasizes the need for co-investment in energy and manufacturing sectors, highlighting the mutual reinforcement between energy system transformation and industrial demand. The brief identifies key barriers including fragmented policies, high capital requirements, and limited domestic manufacturing capacity. It also addresses geopolitical and structural asymmetries in Africa-Europe relations, including divergent priorities around just transition, trade policies, and access to finance. Kenya?s electric cooking sector is featured as an example of emerging green technology adoption, with potential for job creation and value addition.
