Abstract: This document is a globally endorsed guide for mangrove restoration, integrating biophysical design, socioeconomic co-benefits, and carbon accounting strategies. It offers step-by-step methods: feasibility assessment, planning, financing, implementation, and long-term monitoring. Financing options include blue bonds, carbon credits, and nature-based insurance. Case studies from Kenya, India, Mexico, and others highlight community engagement and ecosystem function restoration. Technical modules include guidelines for blue carbon verification and GHG monitoring. The document supports SDG 13, the Paris Agreement, and the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration. Emphasis is placed on aligning ecological health with local livelihoods and using performance indicators to track progress and inform policy.
