Abstract: This report explores the feasibility and strategic value of scaling up renewable energy manufacturing across Africa. Highlighting a projected 8-fold increase in power demand by 2050, the paper positions manufacturing of solar PV, batteries, and clean energy components as critical levers for energy security and industrial growth. Ten countries including Kenya are analyzed for infrastructure readiness, political stability, and trade opportunities. The report identifies investment drivers such as raw materials access, South-South cooperation with China, and anchor partnerships. It outlines policy enablers, supply chain steps, financing gaps, and workforce development pathways, estimating millions of green jobs. Kenya is flagged as a strong contender due to its renewable energy policies and grid progress. A phased implementation roadmap is provided including enabling environment design, co-investment plans, and regional integration. This publication serves as a cornerstone reference for planning Africa's leap into clean tech manufacturing ecosystems.
