Abstract: This brochure summarizes outcomes and lessons learned from the WISER (Weather and Climate Information Services for Africa) programme implemented between 2015 and 2021. Funded by UK Aid, WISER sought to strengthen weather and climate services in East Africa through capacity-building, stakeholder engagement, and product co-development. It involved over 65 analysis initiatives, trained more than 6,000 people, and produced 146 climate service products that benefited 3.3 million households. In Kenya, key projects like WISER Western Kenya and CRISPP supported counties including Kakamega, Kisumu, Siaya, and Trans-Nzoia. These initiatives built forecasting capacity, promoted user-driven service design, and enhanced decision support for agriculture and disaster preparedness. The report underscores collaboration between national meteorological agencies, civil society, and regional platforms, emphasizing the importance of co-produced knowledge and localized application of weather data. WISER is portrayed as a model for scaling inclusive, impact-oriented early warning systems across Africa.
