Abstract: This Participatory Climate Risk Assessment (PCRA) report presents findings from a ward-level climate vulnerability mapping exercise conducted in 15 wards across Tana River County. Employing community workshops, surveys, and environmental data analysis, the assessment identifies key hazards such as floods, droughts, saline intrusion, and extreme heat events. The report captures local knowledge on climate change exposure and sensitivity, highlights spatial disparities in resilience, and documents household-level impacts on water access, agriculture, mobility, and health. The PCRA supports mainstreaming climate considerations into sectoral budgets, CIDPs, and the county?s Climate Finance Policy. It also guides prioritization of interventions under FLLoCA and other devolved funding mechanisms. Special attention is given to gender and social inclusion, with insights from youth, elders, pastoralists, and women?s groups. The report recommends nature-based solutions, climate-smart infrastructure, and coordinated action across ministries and communities to enhance adaptive capacity in Kenya?s coastal and riverine ecosystems.
