Abstract: This policy brief outlines the urgent need for integrating climate-sensitive approaches into Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) programming, especially in emergency settings. It presents five actionable approaches: preparedness and risk reduction, caregiver and child resilience, flexible ECCE delivery, early climate education, and stakeholder engagement in climate action. Drawing on the Nurturing Care Framework, it highlights how climate change threatens children's health, nutrition, learning, and overall well-being?particularly in crisis-affected contexts. The document calls on governments, donors, and civil society to invest in ECCE as both an adaptation strategy and a pathway to building long-term climate resilience and climate justice for future generations.
