Abstract: This factsheet outlines Kenya?s $35.66 million Nature, People and Climate (NPC) Investment Plan under the Climate Investment Funds program, designed to advance Nature-based Solutions across two priority catchments: Lake Victoria South and Ewaso Ng?iro North. The plan integrates restoration of forests, rangelands, wetlands, and riparian zones (?Nature Capital?); livelihoods-focused interventions in agriculture and water systems (?Nature People?); and private-sector mobilization through tourism, carbon and biodiversity markets (?Nature Ventures?). Projected benefits include restoration of ecosystem services, improved climate resilience for rural communities?especially women and youth?food and water security, and 5.5 million tCO?e in avoided emissions. The plan prioritizes inclusive approaches and policy reform while leveraging $108 million in co-financing to foster long-term environmental and economic sustainability.
