Through comparative case studies, it contrasts disaster risk management approaches?formal mitigation in Nairobi versus adaptive innovation in Mombasa?s coastal neighborhoods. The study reviews Kenya?s policy response, such as Disaster Risk Reduction plans and Integrated Urban Development Plans. The paper concludes with actionable recommendations to improve resilience and urban sustainability in climate-vulnerable Kenyan cities.
