Abstract: This high-level market study, conducted under the Triple Benefit Project ? Land to Sea (TBP-L2S) by WWF-Kenya and Pangea Accelerator, explores the market landscape for Nature-based Solutions (NbS) in two coastal sites: the Southern Swamp (Lamu Seascape) and Mida Creek (Watamu). Focusing on mangrove ecosystems, it maps stakeholders, assesses policies, and identifies funding mechanisms and enterprise opportunities. The study highlights community engagement in seedling propagation, eco-tourism, crab farming, and aquaculture, but also identifies systemic challenges including limited technical skills, market access, financing, and regulatory complexity. It introduces the ?NbS Lab? to accelerate collaboration, enhance enterprise capacity, and catalyze innovation in blue carbon interventions. The report recommends strategic partnerships, investment matchmaking, and ecosystem financing to scale mangrove restoration.
