Abstract: This flagship report presents results of the Climate Promise initiative led by UNDP and funded by Japan?s Supplementary Budget, supporting 22 countries in delivering their Paris Agreement targets. It synthesizes progress on enhancing Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) by strengthening governance, mobilizing finance, reducing emissions, and bolstering adaptive capacity. The report showcases interventions in clean energy deployment, disaster risk reduction, ecosystem restoration, and gender-responsive planning. Kenya?s engagement centers on forest ecosystem protection and inclusive climate governance, contributing to emissions avoidance and biodiversity conservation. Strategic partnerships, capacity-building, and knowledge exchange platforms were central to project success. Quantitative results include hectares restored, tons of CO? avoided, new green jobs created, and policies reformed. The report argues for sustained technical assistance and flexible financing to accelerate climate ambition. It also emphasizes transparency and accountability in tracking global progress toward low-carbon, resilient development pathways across vulnerable regions.
