Abstract: This case study presentation outlines Kenya's integrated adaptation programme led by the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) and funded by the Adaptation Fund Board. Targeting 14 climate-vulnerable counties, it introduced the "Adaptation Village Model" as a platform to institutionalize learning, participation, and resilient infrastructure at community level. Each village model comprises solarized boreholes, training facilities, sanitation, water kiosks, and demo plots managed by locally elected committees. The programme focused on food and water security, disaster risk reduction, and scalable community-led solutions. It emphasizes adaptive learning, low-cost training models like Farmer Field Schools, and inclusive, sustainable design for long-term capacity building.
