Abstract: This continental risk assessment maps pathways linking climate stressors to security outcomes across Africa. Using multisectoral data, the report identifies how extreme weather, resource scarcity, and food system fragility escalate vulnerability to violent conflict and radicalization. It documents climate-induced displacement, territorial contestation, and recruitment strategies used by armed groups in fragile ecosystems. Nature-based responses?grounded in community resilience and peacebuilding?are analyzed alongside early warning mechanisms and regional cooperation platforms. Kenyan border areas and institutions such as IGAD are featured as pivotal actors. The study supports policy innovation that integrates peace and climate governance, offering empirical evidence for African Union and national frameworks. It culminates in a policy roadmap toward a Common African Position on Climate Security for COP and beyond. The multidisciplinary team provides actionable intelligence for stakeholders in migration, pastoralism, conflict mediation, and climate policy.
