Abstract: This study explores the role of indigenous knowledge systems in climate adaptation strategies among rural communities in Kenya. It documents traditional practices in water conservation, crop diversification, and seasonal forecasting. The research emphasizes the value of cultural heritage in building resilience to climate shocks. Fieldwork was conducted in Machakos and Kitui counties. The findings advocate for integrating indigenous knowledge into formal climate policy frameworks.
