Abstract: Despite the availability of cleaner options, the majority of Kenyans still cook with dirty fuels, causing significant health and environmental damage. Charcoal, kerosene, and firewood dominate the Kenyan market, contributing to respiratory diseases, carbon emissions, and deforestation. The Government of Kenya (GoK) has expressed its ambition to transition the country to modern, clean fuels. The urban market presents the most immediate opportunity to transition Kenyans to cleaner fuels, such as LPG and bio-ethanol.
