Abstract: The objective of this guide is to assist, by imparting knowledge to field practitioners and extension workers and through them to famers and herders, in achieving increased level of awareness in pastoral and agro-pastoral production systems’ management issues and solutions. The strategies presented are designed around three ways to build resilience: reduce exposure to shock, reduce the sensitivity of systems to shocks and increase adaptive capacity.
