Water insecurity is increasing worldwide, straining relations between people, communities and entire countries. With innovative tools and services, the Water, Peace and Security (WPS) partnership helps stakeholders to identify and understand water-related security risks and undertake timely, informed and inclusive action for conflict prevention and mitigation. The Global Early Warning Tool uses a machine learning-based methodology to forecast conflict over the next 12 months. The aim of the Global Tool is to help relevant actors identify conflict hotspots before violence erupts and understand the local context. Once every three months, we release updated 12-month forecasts to meet user demand for early warning information.
