Abstract: The book Science, Research and Innovation for Harnessing the Blue Economy synthesizes some of the academic presentations made during the Science and Research Symposium of the first ever Blue Economy Conference (SBEC) which was held in Kenya’s capital Nairobi on 26–28 November 2018. The book, organized into three sections with nine chapters and four annexes, has chapters that have been designed to capture some – but not all – of the output of the presentations, made at the symposium.
