Description: Coastal Kenya landscapes and seascapes are dotted with a variety of natural resources and biologically rich ecosystems; from terrestrial forests, mangroves, coral reefs to wetlands and many more. Likewise our conservation efforts are paying a premium. This year Kisite-Mpunguti Marine Park joined a network of 21 Blue Parks around the world after it was honored with a Gold Level Blue Park Award by the Marine Conservation Institute. Other stories lined up in this newsletter include the quest to make Mombasa a Plastic Smart City, community ownership in forestry conservation, supporting sustainable fisheries and gender mainstreaming.
