Abstract: This paper critically discusses how taking care of forests can positively contribute to climate change mitigation as part of achieving sustainable development for a better tomorrow. Arguably, continued deterioration of forest areas and the ever growing threat of climate change is likely to affect human life, thus creating the need for combating both. The author argues that taking care of forests is not only important in climate change mitigation but also a key step towards conservation of the rich biodiversity to be found in forest areas and preserving source of livelihood for the people.
